چکیده

The purpose of the senior design project, from the course description of objectives is "To provide students a complete design experience, including the necessity to set design goals and objectives, integrate knowledge, exercise engineering judgment, plan to meet a budget and schedule, to work as a team member, and to communicate in writing." To accomplish these objectives our group, Helping Hand, designed a teleoperated master-slave 7 DOF robot arm which motion tracks a human operator's arm motion including openclose hand tracking by the end-effector. The project is exclusively focused on the electronics and software to control an electrically operated robotic arm. Stock mechanical robot arms were utilized as needed to accomplish the project. Index Terms — Haptic interfaces, Human robot interaction, Humanoid robots, Intelligent robots, Intelligent systems, Robotics and automation, Robotic assembly, Robot control, Robot motion, Robot programming, Robot sensing systems, Tele-operators, Tele-robotics.

Control of a 2-DoF robotic arm using a P300-based brain-computer interface

In this study, a novel control algorithm, based on a P300-based brain-computer interface (BCI) is fully developed to control a 2-DoF robotic arm. Eight subjects including 5 men and 3 women perform a 2-dimensional target tracking in a simulated environment. Their EEG (Electroencephalography) signals from visual cortex are recorded and P300 components are extracted and evaluated to perform a real...

Robot Mobile Control Technology Using Robot Arm as Haptic Interface

This paper proposed the implementation of haptic-based robot which is following human by using fundamental sensors on robot arms without additional sensors. A Robot arm has 6 DOF(6 angle detection devices) to operate like human arm. Robot follows human by interacting with robot arm(s) and human hand(s), as human follows human by hand(s) Key-Words: Intelligent robot, Human robot interaction, Fol...

Time Domain Passivity Control for Multi-Degree of Freedom Haptic Systems with Time Delay

This paper generalizes the Time Domain Passivity Control concept originally introduced by J.-H. Ryu et al. (2004) in order to work for multi-degree of freedom (DoF) haptic systems with time delay. Its energy computation (named passivity observer) factors in the phase shift caused by time delay, and is improved by an energy estimation. Moreover, the variable damping of the passivity controller i...

A Multi Finger Haptic Hand with Force Feedback

This paper presents a proposal for a twelve degrees of freedom robotic hand system controlled via haptic technology with force control and force feedback. This robotic hand can be used in hazardous environment, deserted places, or aerospace. To achieve this goal, an experimental set up in addition to a computer simulation of this robotic hand system have been carefully designed and built. The e...

Validation of a Control Algorithm for Human-like Reaching Motion using 7-DOF Arm and 19-DOF Hand-Arm Systems

This technical report gives an overview of our work on control algorithms dealing with redundant robot systems for achieving human-like motion characteristics. Previously, we developed a novel control law to exhibit humanmotion characteristics in redundant robot arm systems as well as arm-trunk systems for reaching tasks [1], [2]. This newly developed method nullifies the need for the computati...
